Renee Gurtler
Finance and Operations Manager
As the Finance and Operations Manager at the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, Renee oversees the Foundation’s financial operations and supports grantees by ensuring adherence to the Foundation’s financial practices. Renee holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in Corporate Finance, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Carolina University and has over 20 years of Financial and Accounting experience.
Most recently, she worked with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) as the Grants Manager. Renee lives in the Western part of the state with her husband Tim, daughter Sydney and dog Mia.

When she is not at her desk, Renee enjoys exploring the natural beauty of North Carolina. She was born and raised in Western North Carolina, and whether it’s hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, or relaxing on the Outer Banks, there’s always something new and exciting to experience in this wonderful state.
